Frequently asked questions

Everything players ask us most — tickets, memberships, draws, prizes and playing responsibly.

How do I buy Catch the Ace tickets?

Choose a ticket tier on the homepage or select Buy Tickets anywhere on this site. You choose your tier, create your account, confirm you are 18+ and in Ontario, and pay — all on prhffoundation.ca. You are never sent to a third-party store. Cash tickets are also sold at approved retail partners across Renfrew County.

Who can play?

Anyone 18 years of age or older who is physically located in Ontario at the time of purchase. You do not need to live in Ontario — but you must be in the province when you buy. Foundation staff and board, Ascend employees, AGCO employees and members of their households cannot play.

I'm travelling outside Ontario — can I still buy my tickets?

No. The store verifies your location at purchase and blocks purchases made from outside Ontario (including via VPN), as AGCO rules require. Buy before you leave, or set up the weekly membership while you are in the province — recurring purchases are processed for you each week.

What is the weekly membership and how does it bill?

The membership is an optional recurring purchase: your chosen tier is bought automatically for every weekly draw and billed each week. It is opt-in only — never pre-checked — and the store shows you the weekly cost and billing terms before you subscribe.

How do I cancel or change my membership?

Any time, free, no penalty: open Manage or cancel my membership (also linked in the footer of every page). Cancellation takes effect for the next draw. If you get stuck, write to info@prhffoundation.ca and we will do it for you.

How is the winner drawn?

One ticket is drawn at random from that week's entries using an AGCO-standard random number generator operated by Ascend Fundraising Solutions. The full weekly cycle is explained on How It Works.

What do I win if my ticket is drawn?

You win the guaranteed weekly prize. You then pick one sealed envelope from the board: find the Ace of Spades and you also win the entire progressive jackpot.

What happens if the Ace is not found?

The opened envelope and its card are removed from the board for good, the jackpot carries over and keeps growing, and the game continues next week with one fewer envelope.

Why is the jackpot called an estimate?

Because tickets are still selling. The displayed jackpot is an estimate until each week's sales close, then the final amount is confirmed — this labelling is required by AGCO rules.

How do I find out if I won?

Winners are contacted directly using their purchase details. Results are also published on Winners and in the Weekly Winners Archive, and announced on Facebook and Instagram.

How do I claim a prize?

Write to info@prhffoundation.ca or come to the Foundation office with valid government-issued photo ID. Prizes must be claimed within 6 months of the draw date; the full process is in the Rules of Play. Unclaimed prizes are held in trust for at least six months.

Can I get a charitable tax receipt for my tickets?

No. The purchase of a lottery ticket is not a gift; therefore, a receipt cannot be issued for the cost of the ticket — this is a Canada Revenue Agency rule. If a receipt matters to you, consider a direct donation via Ways to Give.

Where does the money go?

50% of ticket sales fund the guaranteed weekly prize and progressive jackpot; 50% goes to the highest-priority equipment needs at Pembroke Regional Hospital. So far players have funded 10 patient beds, 2 ultrasound machines, a Newborn Resuscitaire and a Maternal Fetal Monitor — see Impact.

Can I get a refund on a ticket?

All ticket sales are final once the ticket has been issued, because the entry is already recorded in the draw pool. Voided tickets — a failed, duplicated or ineligible transaction — are refunded in full to the original payment method within ten business days. Section 14 of the Rules of Play sets out the full policy.

Is this website the official place to buy?

Yes. prhffoundation.ca is the official website of Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation, and tickets are bought here at prhffoundation.ca/buy under AGCO Licence #RAF1555164. If another site asks you to pay for PRH Catch the Ace tickets, it is not us — please tell us at info@prhffoundation.ca.

When are the weekly cut-off and draw?

Sales close Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. ET and the draw takes place Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. ET at the Foundation Office, 705 Mackay Street, Pembroke, Ontario. The exact date and time of the next draw are shown live on the homepage. Purchases after cut-off count toward the following week's draw.
