The game, explained

How Catch the Ace works

One deck of cards. One board of sealed envelopes. One draw every week — and a progressive jackpot that keeps growing until somebody finds the Ace of Spades.

  1. Step 1

    Buy your ticket

Pick a tier and pay right here on prhffoundation.ca. Sales close Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. ET.

  2. Step 2

    Weekly draw

One ticket is drawn at random from that week’s entries, Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. ET.

  3. Step 3

    Envelope selected

The weekly winner takes the guaranteed prize and opens one sealed envelope.

  4. Step 4

    Find the Ace

Ace of Spades inside? The whole progressive jackpot goes with it.

The weekly cycle, step by step

  1. The board is loaded

A standard 54-card deck (52 cards plus 2 jokers, as set out in the approved Rules of Play) is sealed into a numbered envelope board at the start of the series.

  2. Tickets are sold all week

Tickets are sold on this site through to the weekly cut-off, Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. ET. The pool of eligible entries for that week’s draw is fixed at cut-off. This week’s cut-off: 19 Aug 2026, 5:00 pm ET.

  3. One ticket is drawn

A single ticket is drawn at random — using an AGCO-standard random number generator operated by the Foundation’s registered electronic raffle supplier (ERS 5.1.x). That ticket holder wins the guaranteed weekly prize, 20% of that week’s ticket sales.

  4. The winner picks an envelope

The weekly winner then selects one sealed envelope from the remaining numbered envelopes on the board.

  5. Ace found — the jackpot is won

If the envelope contains the Ace of Spades, the winner also takes the full progressive jackpot. The series ends, and a fresh board of 54 envelopes is reset for a new series starting the following week.

  6. Ace not found — the jackpot grows

If the envelope does not hold the Ace, that envelope and its card are permanently removed from the board and publicly recorded in the Weekly Winners Archive. The progressive jackpot carries over and grows with next week’s contributions — with one fewer envelope in play.

  7. Repeat, every single week

The cycle continues weekly until the Ace of Spades is found. Next draw: 19 Aug 2026, 7:00 pm ET at the Foundation Office, 705 Mackay Street, Pembroke, Ontario.
